The Coptic Church is one of the most ancient Churches in the world, having been founded by Saint Mark the Apostle, the writer of the second gospel, in the first Century. As a traditional Church, the Coptic Church has carefully preserved the Orthodox Christian Faith in its earliest and purest form, handing it down from generation to generation, unaltered and true to the Apostolic doctrines and patterns of worship.
St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church Of Delaware was incorporated by 7 immigrant families in the State of Delaware on January 18th, 1979, in a small room they rented from a Lutheran Church in Wilmington. Now we have our own building and a large congregation that gathers for worship, education, and fellowship.
Our liturgy is Sunday 8-11:30 am, followed by Sunday School. Additionally, liturgues take place on Wednesays from 7-9 am and on Coptic Orthodox feasts and occasions. There are hymn classes and various bible study meetings for all ages in our congregation.
Church picnic to celebrate the feast of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
